"JACOBS LIVE REPORTS"

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MATURITY
TIME OUT FOR A LESSON IN LEADERSHIP
Building trust with your followers:
Our nation is maturing and with that maturity comes responsibility. It takes maturity to walk the fine line between avarice and ambition. Our pledge of allegiance says "with liberty and justice or all." If our nation is to remain great we must re-establish what our forefathers created for us:
E pluribus unum, one composed of many. That means working together for our common interests, hopes and values. Our differences are apart of our great strength. Out of this wonderfully diverse mixture has come our shared system of ethical values. We make a difference when we set an example of high ethics. We will continue to have a bright future if we encourage and produce leaders who put ethics at the top of the list of leadership qualities.
Behavior is what evoke a response in others. But behaviors come from attitudes. So as a leader it is important to work on your own ATTITUDE first.
We must all live and raise our families in our community. When we strike out and attack someone personally we should recognize that this affects not only the person but their entire family. I read something today on a BLOG that concerned me considerably, about someone I had the privilege of working with, for so many years when our children attended school together. This BLOGGER needs a lesson in Character Education.
WE HAVE SO MANY ISSUES FACING OUR FINE CITY, COUNTY AND STATE THAT WE SHOULD ALL BE WORKING TOGETHER TO CREATE SOLUTIONS AND STOP THE BASHING.
If you don't agree with the your present government officials, speak out about the issues and step up to the platform and become involved in the process. I recently attended a Common Council meeting at City Hall and there were 10 people there. Where are the people???????
Remember that people depend on a leader to make wise decisions, to be willing to face difficult issues, and to prepare for the future.
Ask yourself did you pass this test?????????????
ARE YOU A TRUE LEADER??????????

A suggestion would be to change the title of “Cahill on Kingston” to “Cahill on Cahill” because he always manages to capitalize on an opportunity to seek recognition on someone else’s hard work, energy and drive and make it political. It was not his brainchild to institute a City-wide Neighborhood Watch Program, yet he jumps on the bandwagon as if it were. Why doesn’t he tell the people that he will stop at nothing to seek notoriety and make everything a political forum because he wants to aspire to mayor in 2011 nor does he care who he steps on along the way. I say SCAT Richard because anything he attaches his name to turns people off. He has so much to say about the neighborhood watch program, but where was he at the meeting points to hand out flyers to the residents this Sunday? Yet, another excuse that he was conveniently out of town or he already bought his fund raising tickets like we have heard him spew so many times before? Quite frankly, we are tired of his excuses. Put up or shut up. Don’t elude the public with his pretense of being concerned for the welfare of the residents, when it is only about him and his warped desire to become the leader of this City. It is time for his motives to be exposed. FYI.. This will be forwarded to other blog masters in the hopes that they will post if he refuses.

We must begin to support our Leaders despite party affiliations and offer solutions to the issues. If we continue to personally attack what example does this set and what are we really accomplishing??? Time is money and the time we spend going after the people personally allows less time to solve the crisis our city, county and nation is facing. If you are willing to make a difference then role up your sleeves and begin to offer your time in making a difference for your community. If we are aspiring to become a public official then you must work in the trenches and become educated in every subject that will allow you the opportunity to offer an Action Plan for the future. On this journey of discovery you should recognize the importance of character education and respect your fellow man. This is a TRUE LEADER.
