"COMMITTED TO MAKING ULSTER COUNTY
THE HEALTHIEST COUNTY IN NEW YORK STATE"
DYNAMIC AND EMPOWERING SUMMIT
Today I was invited, as a key community partner, to the Healthy Ulster Summit, A Community Conversation sponsored by the Ulster County Department of Health at Ulster County Community College. Under the direction of the Ulster County Public Health Director, LaMar Hasbrouck, MD, MPH and his team of professionals, the summit focused on present health information for the county, including new data. The summit provided a unique opportunity to bring together a diverse group of community partners to help define the next steps for making Healthy Ulster a reality. The summit consisted of introducing a framework of organizing collaborative efforts, brainstorming sessions to identify health indicators, conditions and outcomes, and developing a prioritized agenda and action plan for a Healthy Ulster.
I have worked in the Medical Health care industry over twenty five years and I can assure you this event was a tremendous success. This is only the beginning of working together to improve the health of Ulster County residents.
Dr. LaMar Hasbrouck has a Passion to make Public Health a priority.

Kudos again to you, Ms. Jacobs for keeping your pulse on community events and County happenings. I can't wait for your next posting with updates on events and outcomes. You are the best and number one in my book.
I will bet you were one of the 11 citizens counted in the audience for the Common Council meeting Tuesday evening. Didn't I also see a glimpse of you on the webcast video from Tuesday evening's Legislature Meeting? Wow!! Outstanding that you care so much about your community that you were able to attend both meetings on the same night, after attending the Health Summit during the day. You were one busy person. It is my understanding, though, that the Legislature has changed their rules and Common Council meetings will not conflict. This was an exception because of the two cancellations due to the weather and safety comes first for the residents.
